A Sacred Trio: Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Tungnath in One Divine Experience

The Do Dham Yatra with Tungnath is a spiritually enriching journey through the heart of Uttarakhand’s Himalayas. Covering two of the most sacred shrines — Kedarnath (dedicated to Lord Shiva) and Badrinath (dedicated to Lord Vishnu) — along with Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, this pilgrimage blends devotion, stunning Himalayan beauty, and a touch of light adventure. Perfect for seekers of peace, nature, and spirituality, this yatra offers a once-in-a-lifetime connection to India’s divine traditions and ancient legends.

Kedarnath – A Trek to Lord Shiva’s Majestic Himalayan Home

Begin your spiritual adventure with a trek to Kedarnath Temple, located at 11,700 feet amidst snow-clad peaks and deep valleys. This ancient shrine, revered as one of the Char Dhams, is surrounded by dramatic scenery and a powerful spiritual atmosphere. The 16 km trek from Gaurikund is not just a path to a temple but a journey of faith, inner strength, and awe-inspiring natural beauty.

Badrinath – The Sacred Abode of Lord Vishnu

From the Shiva energy of Kedarnath, move toward Badrinath, where Lord Vishnu resides beside the Alaknanda River, beneath the towering Neelkanth Peak. The temple is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in India, with intricate carvings, spiritual chants, and a tranquil atmosphere. Whether you're offering prayers, meditating by the river, or soaking in the beauty of the surrounding Himalayas, Badrinath is an unforgettable experience.

Tungnath – World’s Highest Shiva Temple with Panoramic Views

A short trek from Chopta, often referred to as the "Mini Switzerland of India," leads to Tungnath Temple — the highest Shiva temple in the world. The trek, though short, is filled with breathtaking 360° Himalayan views, colorful meadows, and the serenity of untouched nature. It's the perfect blend of spiritual immersion and peaceful solitude.

Immerse Yourself in Timeless Legends and Divine Landscapes

This journey isn’t just about visiting temples — it’s about walking through mythology and history. The legends of Shiva and Vishnu, the stories of Mahabharata, and the spiritual vibrations of each temple make this yatra a deeply meaningful and life-changing experience. Every step takes you closer to your inner self and to the heart of Himalayan spirituality.

A Scenic, Soulful Route through Uttarakhand’s Natural Beauty

Along the way, travel through alpine meadows, river valleys, pine forests, and snow-draped peaks. From Chopta’s peaceful trails to Badrinath’s sacred riverbanks and Kedarnath’s dramatic mountain views, every turn is a postcard of divine beauty.

Introduction to Do Dham Yatra and Tungnath

The Do Dham Yatra, comprising Kedarnath and Badrinath, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage routes in India. Situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, both shrines are dedicated to two of the most revered deities in Hinduism—Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Many devotees opt for the Do Dham Yatra for its spiritual significance and scenic routes, especially those who want a shorter version of the Char Dham Yatra. Adding Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, to the itinerary makes this journey even more spiritually enriching. Nestled at an altitude of 3,680 meters, Tungnath is also part of the Panch Kedar and is known for its tranquil beauty and relatively easier trekking route.

Religious Significance of Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Tungnath

Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and holds immense significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that the Pandavas built the original temple to seek Lord Shiva's blessings after the Kurukshetra war. Located at an altitude of 3,583 meters, the Kedarnath Temple attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year. Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is one of the four major Char Dham shrines and lies at an altitude of 3,133 meters. It is believed that Lord Vishnu meditated here under a Badri tree. Tungnath, meanwhile, is where the arms of Lord Shiva are said to have appeared. As the highest of the Panch Kedar temples, Tungnath combines devotion and adventure, making it a must-visit for spiritual trekkers.
